| Busy busy
Ive never been as busy as I am this semester. Ive got 4 classes in a row on Monday and Wednesday. Soci 150 at 12, Econ 100 at 1, Geog 25 at 2-3:15 and Plcy 74 from 3:30-4:45. It sucks a lot. I have so much work on sunday and tuesday nights. I try to get ahead, but if i d that ive got no free time during the week. My profs suck so much. Id say in 4 of my 5 classes I have 50-100 pages of reading a night. The other class is econ, which i struggle with anyway.
And then theres all of this nonsense emotional baggage. Everything is ok for now. Theres just like... a shadow over a very important aspect of my life. It'll be ok. For the prayers out there, remember me please... thats all im gonna say.
But everything is ok other than that. Brianna lives a block away. That is like pure heaven. Im glad we made it a year and a half long distance. We're making up for missed time now and its great. My apartment is nice, everyone is welcome.

| Colorado
Last Thursday we departed PTI in Greensboro Via NWA (Not Niggas with Attitude, but rather NorthWest Airlines. We had a connection in Memphis which we almost missed. But after connecting we landed in Denver at 8-something Mountain Time Zone. We went out there to see my Sister Karen, her husband Ken (who I havent met yet), and their 2 year old daughter (my Niece) Rylie. So they met us and we drove to Fort Collins and crashed soon after.
Friday we watched Rylie in the morning, then Karen had the afternoon off. So she came home and hung out and when Ken got off work we went to BeauJo's which is a Colorado style pizza place. Its like deep dish with a thich rolled crust. Then we walked the streets of Fort Collins. Colorado State Univ is in Fort Collins, but the place is so much bigger than Chapel Hill, and yes, its bigger than Buies Creek too. College Drive is a 3 mile long Franklin Street. But there was some kind of festival and the students were moving in so it was really crowded and a whole lot of fun. We then looked at the CSU campus. Its HUGE!!! They have about the same amount of students as UNC, but the campus has a lot more land. There are only 2 dorms over 3 stories. They were only 9 stories tall and about 1/4 the size of HoJo or E-house at UNC. So they arent cramped, but it would take 30 minutes to get to class from one end to the other. Then we drove up into the mountains sinmce they're only about 5 miles from Fort Collins. There was a ridge of mountains, then a huge lake then More (bigger) mountains. From this top of the first ridge was an amzing view of the lake and mountains on one side, then a beautiful scene looking down at Fort Collins. The CSU football stadium is at the base of the mountains and was the closest thing, but we could see Ken's Hotel and College Drive and the lake that belongs to Karen and Kens neighborhood. It was amazing.
Saturday, some of my parents Air Force friends came from Colorado Springs to see us. I havent seen them since i was 9 or 10. Ken is the General Manager of the Fort Collins Hilton. So He got Joe and Kathy a room, my mom and dad a room, and I got a room all to my self. There were 7 pillows in the bed and I had them all to myself. So we went to a local steakhouse which the people in Fort Collins voted to be the best one every year since 1994 I think. It was really good. Then we went back and talked for a long time with Joe and Kathy. A lot of catching up and stuff.
Sunday morning we got up and since we had access to the consierge (sp?) room, we went up there for breakfast. At 11 Ken and Karen and Rylie came to pick us up and we left Joe and Kathy. They went home, we went to Denver to see the Rockies and the Cubs. Greg Maddux pitched which was awesome to see him pitch in person, but he got owned (and by the Rockies no less, that sucks). Rockies win 9-7. Then we went home and chilled.
Monday was mostly uneventful except that we babysat Rylie. Shes precious. We tried to get her to call my mom Nana, but she called her "Mena" because she couldnt say Nana. She called Dad "Papa" and called me "Jace" or "Jase" however itd be spelled i dont know.
Tuesday we also babysat Rylie. I didnt even leave the House Monday or Tuesday.
Wednesday we babysat but then we went to Kens Hotel for the Grand Opening. For 20 years it was a Holiday Inn. The owner of the hotel is John Q. Hammons who is a famous hotel guy. He decided to turn the hotel into a Hilton and brought in Ken to supervise over 8 Million dollars in rennovations. So Ken has done a great job and the hotel is amazing. This this party was hollywood themed and they had their meeting rooms and ballrooms decorated. One was a western theme and there was a john wayne impersonator and a mae west impersonator. There was a Matrix themed room with a Neo impersonator and an Agent. Each room had its on food and its own bar selections. Then in the atrium of the hotel there was a band doing jazz and rock and swing stuff. But there was a Rat Pack room, and the Sammy David Jr impersonator came out and sang Satin Doll with the band backing him up... it was amazing. He sounded like Sammy, moved and danced like sammy, and looked like sammy. He sang with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Wow. But The only people invited were all the uppity-ups in fort collins. Govt officials, business leaders, university officials, and Hilton preffered guests who happened to be in the hotel that night, and little ol' us. It was like another world for us. But it was blast.
Thursday we watched Rylie in the morning then we left for DEN at 12:30. We had a 3:30 flight and after a dely with our connection in ATL we made it home last night around 1:15. I called Brianna who was a bigtime sleepy head, then I went to bed.
But Karen just called while i was typing this and said that when she got Rylie dressed this morning and said they were going to Daycare and that Melody (the daycare lady) had missed her, she threw Karens keys across the room and screamed "Nooooo! Mena watch!" and Karen explained Mena had Gone home, and so Rylie asked "Papa watch?" Karen explained again that papa was gone too and then Ryle said "Jace watch?"
AWWW
But now Im home, ive got some errands to run. Tonight is guys night out. Tomorrow Ive got more errands to run and packing to do and Sunday morning im goint to school. Im excited about that. But I had to share about my trip.

| So ive been scanning for several weeks now. Every page... every single page. So on Friday, Melinda comes to me. She is one of the women that works in the Medical Records Dept. She tells me how they "thin" a chart. For some patients who have a lot of visits, they'll thin the chart and take out everything that is older than 2 years. She said that this is how we are gonna scan from now on. So instead of scanning the past 10 years like ive been doing, we're only gonna do two. I could have done 3 to 4 times as many charts as ive done. Last week i did 76 and the week before that I did 68. Thats 40 hours a week. I think I could have done 400-500 charts during those 2 weeks instead of 150ish. Well the doctors were all mad about it. It just doesnt make sense. They didnt see why we were putting 10 years in anyway. I dont know... its definately frustrating. David said at his dad's office they were only doing stuff from the past three years. It made sense to me, but no one listened. Why wait until 3 days before I leave to make that decision?
But on a happier note, Brianna came this weekend. We had a lot of fun. We rented the Scorpion King/ Mummy Doublefeature on Friday night on movies on demand. That was fun. Then saturday we went to run a lot of errands and it turned out to be an almost 5 hour excursion to do 3 or 4 things. It was a lot of fun though. Then I grilled for dinner. Last night we played a board game and then watched Mr Holland's Opus. She had never seen it before and I think its a great movie. She liked it. Today was church then we played scrabble and she left for the beach.
I will miss her, but the next time i see her (less than 2 weeks) Our long distance Relationship will be over. We're gonna be a block apart. Its so exciting. We've been dating for 16 months long distanced. This is such a relief.
P.S. Congrats to Heavy D.

| OK so I got a job...
Im working for a local doctor's office, a family practice. But theres 5 doctors and 3 Physicians Assistants so their super busy. They have 25,000 active patients and 40,000 total. 25,000 is 1/4 of high point. WOW. The thing is they're going digital with their records. This office is owned by the same company that owns about 20 other offices in my area ranging from dermatology, to internal medicine, to cardiology etc. You know, theyve got at least one of everything. So each office is going to be going digital seperately. What this means is that they have to take all of their medical records and scan them into a database. So thats what I get to do. Each of those 40,000 patients has a chart. I dont know why they call it a chart... its a folder really. So each chart is between half an inch and an inch and a half thick. Each sheet of paper has to be seperated into its category. Theres categories like referral letters, administrative forms, lab results, Office notes, etc. I cant think of them all but i think theres 8 categories and each category has between 10 and 20 subcategories. Each form has to be scanned (via scanner, duh) into its own subcategory and saved. This has to be done for every patient. Our goal with 2 of us scanning is to do 30 a day... out of 40,000. So its gonna be tough. Im working 25 hours next week and 30 the next, then its on to Full time work for about 3 weeks before i go on vacation to see my sister, Karen, and my little niece, Riley, in Colorado( ) then back to school for the fall.
